General & Aesthetics Dentist Practice – ASS410 (2 Locations)

Known for its comprehensive and patient-centered approach, this general and aesthetic dental practice has earned a strong reputation across Central Kansas. Offering a full spectrum of dental services, including general, cosmetics, and specialty care, the practice has a strong reputation, as evidenced by its extensive education, experience, and use of modern technology. Established in 1993 as a single-location S-Corporation, the practice has since expanded to include a second satellite office located less than 30 miles away. Over the past 24 months, the practice has seen 20–30 new patients annually, contributing to the 1,857 active patients seen at the main office and 395 active patients serviced at the satellite location. Currently, the main office operates three days per week, and the satellite office one day per week. Both locations share a team of six full-time employees, including the owner (dentist), two hygienists, dental assistants, and two office managers, along with three part-time staff members, two dental assistants and a bookkeeper. All employees are expected to remain with the practice following the ownership transition. As the owner prepares for retirement, they are committed to ensuring a smooth transition over the next 12 to 18 months, offering mentorship and support to the incoming owner to maintain continuity of care and operations. 

Over the years, the practice has expanded its range of services to keep pace with the ever-evolving field of dentistry and has leveraged this variety of offerings as a competitive advantage. General dentistry forms the foundation of daily operations, including preventive and diagnostic care like routine exams, prophylaxis, x-rays, bonding, extractions, fillings, sealants, and more. A diverse selection of cosmetic and specialty services is also offered, such as root canal therapy, teeth whitening, fixed restorative procedures, implant restoration and placement, veneers, and bone grafting. Advanced services like implant placement and bone grafting serve as key strengths of the practice, helping it maintain a leading position within the local market. 

Located in the center of the city, the main facility spans 1,900 square feet and features a modern layout with four operatories. A second satellite location, situated 30 miles away in a well-established neighborhood, operates out of a 1,200-square-foot space equipped with three operatories. Initially, ownership of the buildings and properties will remain separate from the sale of the practice; however, a fair market lease agreement will be established, and future purchase opportunities may be negotiated. Patients enter the main location through a designated entryway filled with natural light from large windows, leading directly into a welcoming waiting room. Similarly, Abilene location features a spacious and inviting waiting area and near this waiting area (at both locations) patients have access to a restroom and receive assistance at the reception desk, which have workstations integrated with Eddison practice management software by Goetze Dental. Passing through the waiting room doors at the main office, patients encounter the Vatech PaX-i3D Smart Panorex Cone Beam (a similar x-ray unit is installed at the satellite location). Beyond the cone beam area are 4 fully equipped operatories, two hygienist rooms and two dentist rooms, with integrated dental chairs, overhead lighting, workstations, and TVs, while the satellite location features 3 similarly outfitted operatories. One operatory in each facility includes a wall-mounted X-ray unit. Across the hall from the operatories in the main office is a sterilization room outfitted with a BioSonic UC125 ultrasonic cleaner and a SciCan STATIM G4 5000 cassette autoclave. Across from the ops is a dental lab containing a Whip Mix dental model trimmer, a Handler Red-Wing dental lathe, and an adjacent storage closet and laundry room. The satellite location also has a small lab / sterilization area. In the main location, there is an additional staff entry point beyond the lab and laundry room that provides access to the dentist’s private office at the main office, which includes a workstation and TV, as well as a small breakroom and an employee restroom. The sale of this dental practice includes all practice assets, equipment, supplies, and a well-established patient base of both locations.

Over the past 6 years, collections from both locations have remained steady with 2019 being in line with 2024 achieving collections of ~$1.1M, however with the satellite office doing less work. Dental supplies and lab expenses are above the top-end of industry norms (~15%) at ~17% of collections translating to a ±83% gross margin at the practice. Operating profits are expected to be in line with industry standards ~15%, and annual discretionary cash flow earnings (adjusted EBITDA), commonly referred to as “Dentist Gross Income”, are ~$400K or ±35% of collections, ideal for a new dentist to service any debt financing and still receive a generous remuneration package.
